So, we found our dream apartment, overlooking the Herengracht, off Rembrandtplein, in Amsterdam.
It has a good location. Here is the
outside of it.
It is surrounded by pretty canals, and the living room overlooks them. There are cafes just across the street. Actually, there are also three strip clubs across the street. It is within easy walking distance of many attractions.

Look for it when you enter.
The front faces north, but there are large windows into the living room, allowing a lot of light in. Actually, it is slightly angled to the north, so morning sunlight squeaks in the windows.
The apartment has three bedrooms. The master bedorom faces south, and has a small balcony where you can put a table and a couple chairs. It overlooks a pleasant garden.
Nik's room is reached off the living room by a flight of steps, and overlooks the canal. Nik's room has two beds, and if too many guests show up, we may throw Nik in the other bedroom with one bed.
Aki bought a huge bunch of tulips at the Bloemenmarkt for 5 NLG - less than $2.50 US. When Aki questioned the price, the vendor said "This is Netherlands!" This is about 1/3 of the tulips in the bunch:
